Mayors Message
We wish to thank everyone that attended our public meeting on July 7th 2011. We were very happy with the number of people that attended (over 200)!
We have been continually concerned on the lack of options that we have in getting word out to the people on crucial events. By haveing this meeting we felt that by answering some of your questions it might have relieved a few concerns.
We at city hall have been working hard to get ahead of the waters that may or may not come. We have filled over 600 bags that are in storage to be used around lift stations, water plant or where ever needed.
Police Chief Ted Kuhlman has been appointed by me as our Emergency Management Officer to monitor the flood situation, make decisions that will look at safety and protect our people and our town. He will work arm and arm with our fire department, Sheriff Clemens, and the Ray County Commissioners.
I urge each person with a cell phone to sign up with our Text Caster Program to receive alerts and updates on any recent news that may be coming up. Its easy just go to this web page and follow the instructions on the screen. As soon as you sign up, your updates will be coming to your phone or computer.
Again thank you very much for attending the meeting and your support!
Bob McCorkendale
